Contributed the following text to accompany Steven Pearse Conway's photographic essay which was shot on the streets of Berlin.
I walk the same path night after night, stepping out new secrets. My streets are a depository filled with clues of the undisclosed. Every footfall recovers a tiny piece of something lost or abandoned. You kick up these stories into your lungs and carry them with you for a time, keeping them safe, keeping them hidden. Then one day you'll sigh and unknowingly release these ciphers to be reabsorbed back into a city tired of cracking codes.
In the last week of July 2013 I asked some of my dearest friends to help me document an end and a beginning before I once again left Berlin for Auckland.
